Our service center is conveniently located at Port 32 Tierra Verde, just off the Pinellas Bayway, convenient to both Tampa and St. Petersburg. We are accessible by both water and land, making your service needs even easier to address.

Think our shop is just too far from your boats location? Don’t worry, we offer USCG Licensed Delivery Captains to bring your boat to and from our service center if necessary.

Captain Kenny Hyatt

Ballistic Marine was created by Captain Kenny Hyatt in 2012. Kenny ran and operated large privately owned vessels throughout southern Florida and South America. Kenny always thought there was a better, more efficient way to properly take care of boats without costing owners a premium.

He wanted to do away with inconsistent and unreasonable sub-contractor work when trying to tackle issues on clients vessels. Ballistic Marine was born out of a need to supply owners with consistent well trained technicians that are committed to caring for vessels and customers needs in an efficient and cost effective manner.

Our fully trained employees consist of Certified Mechanics, Certified Gelcoat, Fiberglass, & Paint Technicians in addition to a Wash Crew and Detailers committed to producing the best work possible. All of our employees are fully insured, drug tested & background checked to offer you safety and reassurance. Our employees love what they do & it shows.

Kevin Jackman

Service Manager

I started working on boats over 20 years ago in high school in the Florida Keys. Joined the Coast Guard in 2008 where I spent 7 years as a mechanic learning the ins and outs of large boats, auxiliary systems, and electrical. I then moved back to the Bay Area where I spent time at a couple dealerships to hone my diagnostic knowledge before landing here at Ballistic Marine. I’m a certified Yamaha technician and have been performing warranty repairs for Yamaha, mercury, and Suzuki for many years. I also hold training certificates for brands such as Power Pole, SeaStar, and Simrad.

Joe Nguyen

Marine Restoration Specialist

As a dedicated marine restoration specialist with over 25 years experience, I combine technical expertise, attention to detail, and a passion for marine craftsmanship to bring vessels back to their prime. With extensive experience in repairing and restoring boats of various sizes and styles, I excel at revitalizing both their structural integrity and aesthetic appeal. My skill set includes painting, non skid, gel coat application, fiberglass repair, and vessel modifications ensuring each project meets the highest standards of quality. I collaborate closely with clients to understand their vision and deliver tailored solutions.. Driven by a commitment to excellence, I take pride in restoring yachts and allowing owners to enjoy them with confidence.

Matthew Hassett

Detail Crew Team Leader

Matthew has been the team leader of the Ballistic Marine detail crew now for many years. He has proven time and again that he understands the level of work and the commitment that it takes to produce an exceptional boat detail. Matthew has spent the last 10 years perfecting the art of vessel surface restoration and care. From working on vessels with pristine paint coats to sun damaged gel finishes Matthew’s system of care and polish is second to no one. He has been instrumental in bringing along and teaching the detail techniques to this division of employees and it certainly shows in his finished products.

Riley Lester

Wash Program Team Leader

Riley is certainly not new to the Ballistic Marine crew. As Team leader of our Wash Program he facilitates all of our scheduling and quality control. He works diligently with our other crewmembers to make sure that we have consistent washes throughout all of our staff. Riley is tireless in his effort to achieve quality results with each wash that our customers receive. Riley is always making sure that our incoming staff as well as our senior wash crewmembers have all the tools that they need to be successful on each job. His level of commitment shows through on everything he is a part of.
